Hello

Postby claypole1360 » 18 Jul 2010 18:25

Hi Everyone, This is my second post on this forum, I am new to TR7s and a bit of a mug as all will come clear, but have been in possession of around ten triumphs in the last 15 years including heralds, spits, 2000s and my current car which is a Bond Equipe that I use for sprinting and hillclimbing, I also now own a TR7.
Unfortunately, you will find it up for sale in your classifieds section as i bought it pretty much unseen on the basis that it looked great and have discovered that it needs more work than I have time or space for. This has however whetted my apetite and my everso supportive wife has assured me we can go 7 hunting again next summer.
There seem to be a lot of TR7s out there that are in good nick and it seems I am in a minority of people who don't want a convertible. I now know where the rust traps are and with help and advice from you guys, I look forward to an altogether more satisfactory purchase next summer.
Cheers Calvin.

10 triumphs in 15 years?! You've got to find a way to make those cars last a bit longer or they will become extinct. [:)]

I assume you want to stick with the hardtop so you can use it for sprints. I can assure you that a TR7 is a great club sport car. They are endlessly tunable, handle very nicely with a few simple tricks & when your competitors think they have you sussed you can chuck in a V8 in the off-season & blow them into the weeds.

I didn't drive them all into the ground, but you've got my masterplan off to a tee, will have to see what I can get next year.

If you want a drivers car the FHC indeed is the better (more rigid)option.
Good luck with hunting one down [;)]
