Head Lamps

Postby chan » 09 Jul 2010 15:41

Ok here goes! My head lamps have stopped working. Initially it was just The R/H main beam that wasn't working. A quick fix was to bridge a wire ovver from the L/H to get it through last years MOT. Now the dip beam on both sides are inop as well. The flash works when lamps are raised but they don't raise when flash is operated as normal. The fuses are ok and relays round the fuse box area seem fine. I've cleaned the main switch, side lamps work and head lamps pop up and down. Any one any ideas?

Both sets of headlamp connector blocks (red and black) in the engine bay are sound and shiny?

I had a problem with main beam not working on one side, turned out to be corrosion the connector block that connects to the back of the headlamp unit itself (not the connectors in the engine bay).

As said, start by cleaning all the connections, & dont forget the connections to the headlamps themselves even though this means removing the unit from the pod.
