DHC rubbing window

Hi,

I am getting close to finishing the car, hopefully MOT in early August. I have been reconditioning the door window mechanisms, but have a problem on the passenger side, the metal lift channel is catching on the impact bar and I cannot seem to over come this.

I have already replaced the window felts which were gunked up with waxoyl and the regulator which was faulty, I have refitted the door card and rear glass guide to no avail.

Anyone any ideas to overcome this?

The top of the rear glass guide slips into a grove in the door. If not properly seated before the bottom screw is installed, then the top end of the guide is free to move.

As far as I can see the guide just sits in the door groove and the felt pushes into the guide and the guide, is this correct?

I think I may have to remove the quarter light assembly to see if this has been correctly fitted.

The REAR window guide has a tab at the very top that slides into a slit in the door assembly at the very edge. When set in the grove, it will not move around. Once in, you can install the bolt at the bottom of the guide and adjust the tension.

When you have the rear guide out, check the two spot welds that hold the securing arm to the guide. These weld break under usage and need to be replaced with pop-rivets. Not easy, but can be done.

The rollers are still attached to the window regulator, right?

Rollers? Where are these, the regulators are new so I suppose they are?

I am in process of fitting electric windows, drivers side works perfectly, but the problem is with the passenger side. Drag is the problem, I know if everything is right it will work so I am trying the eliminate all drag problems.

There are two plastic roller on the window regulator that fit in the slides. One in the door and the other on the window.

Ah, thanks. The regulators are new, so yes they are there. I think I will need to find a way to slightly adjust the front quarterlight frame.
