We found some good usable TXV's. The Volvo valve will work but was a 1-1/2 ton unit so does not have as much flow capacity. OEM was 2 ton and a 9.9* superheat. That is the 4 seasons (Everco)#38604 and costs around $40. Autozone can get it. But we thought a lower superheat might allow greater cooling capacity. (Most auto applications are 2-5*. The superheat is the difference between inlet and outlet temps across the evaporator. It insures that all the liquid refrigerant evaporates.) Their #38613 is a 2 ton with 5* superheat. It has 40" capillary tubes but longer we can use, shorter we cannot. Amazon lists these for about $15 each so we back ordered 2 of them. Will they ever ship? We will see.
