Yeah, that door is on the to-do list, not quite sure how to do it, other than get a new door..... [:(]

The door can be reskinned, never done it but a common activity in the UK. Don't know if it's easier to replace whole door if you find another one (rust free) or reskin existing door so you have a rust free one.

If the frame is still good, reskinning the door is much cheaper.
Gives you th eoppotunity to have th einside properly treated.
A second hand door may also have hidden horrors.

As for the wheels, I prefer the original alloys under that car ...

Actually in the bodyshop/collision industry we reskin doors quite often ...with the proper tools it's really no big deal at all !

I like silver and gold at the best (gold only in combination with black-gold car) .. black is a pure fashion phenomenon not a style for old cars [8)]

If it's possible to match the gold on the graphics exactly - I'd go for gold anyday!
(If you then paint the windscreen surround gold metallic as well = TOP marks! IMHO)


And loose that ugly white plastic on the front, it doesn't match the rest! [:D]

Ive got my Black and Gold Triumph Laurel centre caps done now, just waiting for the wheel nuts. Will stick some pics up when they are all on! [:)]

Hoops i reckon that the gold look best but i also like the black,[:)]

ive just got a set of slot mag alloys and as my 7 is off white i cant decide weather to keep them silver or have them powder coated black.[?]

Flat white is my pick. They may 'pop' out a bit much, but I think it may be worth a can of spray to see. IMO gold=cheese, black=boy racer, both are good but try a bunch.

Hoops, Pop into a Halfords 'Paint Match' store.
They have A4 size lever arch files full of swatches. Each colour has a hole in the centre so that you can place it over the item (graphics) to match and compare. Every colour you could think of, in brush or spray application.

I did this when I had to touch-up a few scratches on my son's mountain bike and the match was spot-on. His face was a picture when I told him what colour it was.....
Lamborghini Green [:D].

Paint the windscreen surround the same colour as the door window surround (satin black) along with the door handles = [:p][8D][:D].

Yes, but fitted onto a pivoting holder it will disappear - as soon as the car moves.
And don't distract the viewer from seeing the car... [:D]
Even more so on a black car, just look at his sig-file picture; What's the first thing you see?

The English have this humungus liscence plate you can see a mile away (there is an indent on the bumper to accomodate it). Here in N/A (and Sweden) you have a "regular" sized plate that you could hinge. We've been told that in BC for a car with collector plates if there is no provision for a front liscence plate you don't have to "defile" the car to put one on. Mine doesn't so I don't. Now I never tested this as I've never been stopped by RCMP and the guy in ICBC (Provincial insurer/liscencer) who headed the Collector Plate Division now works for Haggerty's so I suppose I should get a written clarification. When I did go through US customs in Port Angeles last year and the guy saw I had no plate on front he did a quick run around to the back of the car to see if I had a plate before he waved me through. He was more cconcerned that I wasn't going to sell my car in the States.[8D]

made a big change with the response of the steering! rides a bit better now as well as now goes in a straight line!

pretty much decided on black now, need to get them properly powder coated.


Also, out of interest, how long is the standard rubber dipstick pipe? i have a new one but i think it might be too long as it does not read any oil between the lines..... Anyone have one handy or could measure one? [:D]
