SPST contact configuration

Postby UKPhilTR7 » 30 May 2010 21:38

I have a Snap-in Illuminated Miniature Round Rocker Switch from Maplin, that has a SPST contact configuration. I was wondering if anyone has one and knows which pins are which are on the back.

SPST = Single pole, single throw. Basically a one way in and out switch. If it is illuminated it will also normally have an earth for the switch illumination. It is easiest to test with a meter to see which terminal is which. However, I have a Maplin illuminated switch on the override for the rad fan which I have never been able to work out! The warning light seems to be permanently on or not working. I didn't worry as I have a warning light on the circuit to show if the fan is running anyway.

Main Neon lamps require AC current, not DC current. Also they require move than 12 volts.

Quite right Clay, I didn't read the link. However, mine is definately 12V LED and still dosen't do what it said on the tin ('LED illuminates when the switch is on').
