Thanks everyone for your good wishes.
Having had a couple of days to think about this my obstinate, stubborn streak is coming out[:D]
I am still going to buy the rally computer I want with the Demon Tweeks vouchers I have told everyone I want for Xmas, I am still going to refresh the cylinder head and timing chain etc, I am still going to fit group 4 brakes and I am still going to get my car it's official MSA Historic vehicle papers.
In addition, I am still going to the Manx with the car co-driving as soon as I can (another 5 or 6 years now)but even if I have more problems I am still bloody well going as service crew for my own car if I have to[:0]

Which rally computer are you going for Raider?
Just curious as we recently changed ours from a Terratrip to one of the small Monit ones, (TC100), and have to say it is an excellent little unit. As I am the one that has to use it I found it to be much easier to operate and just more 'user-friendly' in general. After it's initial calibration, which in itself is very easy, it has not skipped a beat in the two events we have now done with it.
