I would never use any kind of shot blasting to remove paint.
Big chance it will warp the outside panels.
Better to have the body in a chemical bath to remove the paint.

With the paint removed you can shot blast the bad sections.

The gold wheels on the UK Russet brown ACN car are in fact alloys made for the 1980 Premium limited edition. They even have the Premium code on them and were originally silver with the centre panel painted gold, I know the car and its owner and he is aware of this. Its a shame the wheels have been painted gold as they look really good with the polished edges. Im having a set re furbished for my Premium. There were 50 sets of "76" alloys made by GKN.I have a new one still in its original BL box.

I know it's been a long time coming, lots of ups and downs in life, but it's finally on the road! Actually started driving it again in Feb 2016, have put 4000 miles on it now, July 2016. I keep finding excuses to drive it! A well kept secret on what a pleasure it is to drive these cars, not to mention the fun factor. Will send updated pictures soon, Thanks, Jim

I am sure glad I am not in a restaurant, waiting for you to bring me a meal, but well done on rescuing that car.

To hasbeen, you can't rush quality! lol. No, actually I hit a few bumps in life's road and just let it sit in my garage until December 2015. I am making up for lost time now by using it almost daily. The proper vin # is ACN 01007 UCA. I have a request into the British motor industry museum for one of their certificates , is it worth the price to find out more about it? Also I am trying to reach the first owner ( I am the second, if you don't count the dealer) I never got to speak with him during the buying process , as it was handle by one of his family members. I would really like him to fill in some blanks about the early history of the car . Any idea where I can get replacement front slides for my sunroof? Snapped one this morning get ready for a local car show . Next show Days of Triumph at Lars Anderson Auto Museum, Brookline Ma. Sunday July 31 2016, Cheers, Jim
