I've had Lumenition for years and it's been fit and forget[:)]. When I had points on my 2.0L they needed sorting every 4,000 miles or the engine went rough above 4,000 rpm.
I read somewhere that the optic sender / receiver needs a wipe with a clean rag every few years to prevent misfiring but I've never had that myself.
There's various electronic ignition packs on the market now but way back then it was either Lumenition or Pirana.
Make sure that the heatsink is mounted in a "cool" part of the engine bay well away from the exhaust manifold. Mine is on the inner wing behind the headlamp mountings.
Cheers,
Adam
