Pulled my carbs today to try and fix the sticking pistons inside, the cleaning went ok, however also found evidence of a fuel leak between the bottom of the float chamber and the flexable pipe that leads to the jet. when you reassemble this piece is the only thing holding the pipe in place the small rubber washer being squashed by the nut?

I have also noticed that under the spring covering the plastic pipe between the float chamber and the jet is kinked, the pipe seems to be listed as part of the jet on most of the spares sites that i have looked at, is it possiable to change this or do i have to renew the jet?

I've only ever seen them as part of the jet. I suppose if you looked around you could find some pipe of the same diameter that would work, but to be honest, I'd be looking at renewing the jets anyway, just for peace of mind.

And you have to be really careful fitting that rubber washer, if it goes in even slightly wonky it won't seal and you'll get petrol going everywhere. Worse, you'll probably destroy the washer in the process and will have to get another one. Trust me, I speak from experience! [B)]
