Let's get this party started! I just swapped a 1989 Range Rover (15mpg, lace floorboards) for a 1979 TR7 (hoping for much better mileage, solid rockers, wiring nightmare, dodgy strombergs). I have owned only a Herald (back in 75) and Spitfire MkII (later 70s). Lots of Rovers, Land Rovers and a couple Rangies since then. Volvos for regular duties.
This car needs some sorting. It has a chrysler alternator off who knows what, and no cold start whatever. EGR has rusted away. Airpump, surprisingly, is still there and appears to work. AC compressor was removed. I'd like to put a decent alternator back on. I wonder if there is a decent FI or two barrel conversion for this engine. I got it for economy and fun. I have plenty of Rover V8s under other hoods. Where in the US do you go for parts? Called Victoria British and talked to a girl who knew nothing about triumphs. Sigh. I'm used to great advice and service from Rovers North. I'm in north Georgia, above Atlanta. I'd like to get this somewhat better before British Motorcar Day at Berry College on May 17.
Cheers!
