Well, reg 1.8.78 according to this listing - that's early if it's genuine & not a roof chop job. Shame the pics are a bit fuzzy but the rear wings look correct.

It's got a US spec rear bumper but RHD. Possibly a Speke built development car? Be interesting to know the chassis number .......

according to the dvla it doesent look like its been on the road for a good year or so either...
where do get 18 owners from?? is there somewhere else i can get info on cars other than this stuff i found???

Hi

It could be the case that the registration number is not the original for the car. By that I mean it's not impossible that one of the many owners might have restored the dhc shell and used (illegally) a spare fhc logbook from a scrapped car to register it. A ringer, perhaps?

I think Graham could be right, the reg number was issued on 01/08/78 in Bristol, this means it was never a factory registered car and therefore not a prototype or development car. It could have had a number plate change but it doesnt look like a cherished plate to me, more likely its been re shelled, like a lot of FHC, as a DHC in the 80S.
