TR7 DVD Sales - only 4 copies left!

Postby John Clancy » 01 Mar 2008 11:04

Something of a dilemma this but sales of the Bullet DVD have far exceeded what I imagined. This web site has been responsible for the majority of the total sold and the result is only four copies are left. Yes, FOUR!

Looks like I'll have to 'bite the bullet' and shell out for a second pressing after all. And I thought I'd have hundreds of the initial discs knocking around for years. Amazing!

For anyone in Australia, the Pitstop Bookshop in Perth are now stocking the discs. They just took most of the remaining discs off us which is why we're now down to four.

Great to hear the sales have gone so well, John! A testimony to all the effort you put into making it in the first place.

Ah, the old "only a few left" tactic!

Rather than repress the original, you need to bring out another version with some different footage so that everybody will have to buy again...

..then there is the "directors cut" (with out-takes and bloopers) followed by version 3 "special collectors" version...

...before finally re-releasing the original several years hence to be bought again by people who have lost the first copy and the next generation of "newbies".

Believe it or not Paul, yours was seven from the end! Two more have gone out since.

It's fantastic that Sony are going to have to produce a second batch - it just means I'll be skint for a while!!!

Steve, I think every regular contributor on here already has a copy so somehow I doubt there being only four copies left will make any difference. We'll have to wait for the 'Ultimate Edition' which I'll put out in a couple of years time!!! Not a chance! The copy everyone has now is how it will stay. Perhaps a second 'extras' disc will happen sometime though.

The Stag DVD is in its infancy but I'm lining everything up. The opening is virtually in the can but even that will require a lot of work over the course of this year. Strangely, it's titled "CODE NAME: STAG".

Hi John,
Great news mate [:D] Absolute stunning DVD for those who have not got a copy then do so.
Saw you in the 'barns' at Stoneleigh John filming some Stags, the mystery solved on why,was going to say hello but you looked busy.
Cheers John

So was I Steve... but you've got me thinking!!!

Actually, with regard to something in the future I think the video taken of Tony Pond at the Coys Rallysprint is a must. A few other things have also turned up so sometime in the future we should have enough for a decent extras disc. In the meantime perhaps we'll slap on some rarities at the National Weekend.

I think the video of Tony Pond would be great John.
A fitting tribute to the man and his last event i believe - which he won, of course.
Any footage of events and meetings would be good showing TR7/8's in use today.
Cheers
Phil

John, perhaps I should try and copmplete 530S as a tribute to go with the Tony Pond DVD at Billing.

Perhaps we should have a Tony Pond theme in the tent??? SJW 530S and a couple of cars in Works colours with all the footage of Tony Pond and the rally programme we can muster on a big screen.

How does that idea grab everyone?

John

If you are doing a Stag dvd then put me down for a copy.

If anyone has not seen the Bullet dvd then get a copy!

Could you do one on the Dolomite Sprint also and could you include the Tony Pond TT lap in the Rover Vitesse if that is available?

Hey John.... Have you shipped any copies to Woody at the Wedge Shop here in Massachusetts??? If so, I'm going to get my copy there.
