Remote Control locking kit

Postby UKPhilTR7 » 25 Feb 2008 11:50

Not so long ago, I brought a centrol locking kit and boot release kit, with the intention of buying the remote control unit the next month (after pay day). However, when I cam to place my order I was told that the units were totally sold out and that I could try Moss, but they didn't have one either.
Has anyone else had this issue or btought another remote control unit to open the central locking and boot on their TR7? I know that you can get some of ebay, but would rather go for one that is proven to work.

Now, there's a very nice man by the name of Simon at Robsport who I am sure will sell you the right bits. Yes, they do appear on ebay every now and then, mine came from there but who was the seller, none other than numpty9 (Simon!!)

I like the controller kit because of it's simplicity. You simply snap open the ignition switch connector and install the unit inbetween. Siamese connections make it so easy. The unit has a built in immobiliser circuit as well as the central locking interface connections.

I got an alarm from e-bay that operates the central locking

All I did was to fit the alarm then fit the central locking solenoids only

And it works great

Although I opted not to do the boot (didn’t see the point)

After fitting I was left with two solenoids a remote and the remote brain

As the locking kit I got was for a 4 door

Resold it on e-bay and got my money back...[:D]

I am sure looking down the ebay route, but also the local shops route as if there is something wrong, then I can take it back in person.
Lol funny enought Robsport was where I got the central locking and boot release from, with the hope of getting the remote unit the mext month, but when I come to order it, they had sold out. Just my luck[:D]
