I wish I could help but my spring pinged across the garage floor when I took my wiper switch apart!
After owning the 7 for 20 years the wipers would barely make it across the screen. After renewing the motor, taking apart the whole rack and spindles, cleaning all the relevant contacts in the loom and checking out the wiper switch I finally found the problem. One of the muppets who had owned the 7 before me had cut the wires to the switch, then reconnected them by baring and twisting them together before wrapping everything up in insulation tape. A proper repair brought the wipers back to life immediately.
BUT. The wipers now only have one speed across both settings until someone lets me know the proper positioning of this spring. Then again I'll need an extra set of fingers to keep that spring in place when putting that switch back together. No wonder a new indicator stalk / switch is £50.00 + vat.
Oh yes, the parking switch that came with the recon motor takes about 5 cycles before it finally parks the wipers!
Cheers,
Adam
