Just Noticed...

You know how you can live with someone/something for a while, and still get surprised every so often? I just got back from a run with the TR8 down to Murfreesboro - about 160 miles round trip - and on the way down I noticed how the design of the raised center portion of the dash is integrated with the middle bulge of the bonnet. Not a biggie, by any means, and pretty subtle, but a nicely incorporated design!

The car ran great, by the way!

The day started out at 32 degrees, but by the time my meeting was over, it was almost 60. Had snow still on the ground in the shadows, but all in all, a nice day for the groundhog!

Hay BMC, just how much does it rain, there in central Scotland?
I get this picture of tens of inches of rain, which is probably quite wrong.

We are considered a dry climate here, & we get an average of
37 inches a year. More than half of that is in december, january &
february, with over 5 inches a month.

In june july & august our average is a bit over an inch, each month,
& its not unusual to get nothing for 5 to 7 weeks.

50 miles north of us they get 50 inches, & are still considered a
dry climate, for the same reason.

ok..it was -15 degreesF here yesterday, and today it might warm
uo to 5....with 3-5 inches of snow expected before Tuesday morning.
TR7 still parked in my heated? garage which has frost on the concrete floor. It's too cold to even sit in the car and make engine sounds. Needs a bit of touch-up paint, but that's too thick to spray even if I was dumb enough to try it. If it EVER warms up I would be tempted to take a drive, even if it would be sloppy.

We have/had highs of 9 lows of 2 degrees celsius. (our US friends can do the conversion on the internet.) Our temperatures don't vary much during winter. We had two days of snow in November and the rest went to the north to Vancouver or to the south to Washington State. Although it rains often it's a misty rain not the heavy rain of the North American Plains. But this past week, spring is in the air. Our famous newspaper cartoon is an old geezer shoveling flower petals off the sidewalk swearing under his breath "#$%&@@* flowers" while we know to the east they're still shoveling out from the last snow storm.
The TR7 is apart with the parts orders going in this week. Then it'll be putting it back together for the first car show in May if not sooner.

Mickey-I noticed that also back when I bought my 1980 (my 75 only has the single bump bonnet),because I've seen customized cars where the interior trim meets/matches the exterior by sanding smooth some dash parts and painting them to match the outside. I would never do that on my 7,but I do think it is neat when done well.

Again, it's very understated, but hard to imagine that the designers didn't have it in mind when they were at the drawing board. And in the reading I've done, I've never encountered mention of it.

But then, I'm usually quite full of useless information! [:D]
