Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Fuel overflow pipes

Postby simon hubbard » 14 Jan 2008 09:27

I wonder if you could let me know where the green fuel overflow pipe that comes from the float chamber nearest the bulkhead goes to (left side as it is uk car). It has a clip to attach it somewhere but was not held on anywhere.

Thank you

Hi Simon,

On my '7 the pipe is attatched to the coil mounting bracket on the bulkhead.
Hope this helps
Greg.

Many thanks, I thought that might be the case but then i thought a fuel overflow pipe attaching to an electrical item, surely not! On the other hand...................!!

On mine the pipe was going into a small hole in the frame. But I was not too happy with this so I was thinking of connecting it to the dip stick tube.

I had to order a new set of HT leads and there was a difference in older and newer models, i believe it is the positioning of the ignition coil, as i found out from the reply the tube on mine attaches to the coil bracket. I looked at your pictures and the badge suggests it is a newer model so maybe that is why you have it leading into the frame, either way it doesnt seem very good.

Yep mine is an older model 1980. True it is not good, never suggested that it was. That is why I am moving it.
