Princess 4 Pot

<b><font face="Verdana"><font color="green">I have been looking into these and it looks like they can be used as a direct replacement for the hard to get hold of Princess 4 Pot callipers. I was wondering if anyone here has purchased these aftermarket callipers (http://www.hispecbrake.co.uk/calipers/b4pri-page.htm) and if so what do you think of them, are they worth the money and easy to fit on? Do they make a real difference to the stopping to the TR7 and which disk size do you use on them?

I am completely in the dark with this one so any help would be great. I must admit that I always hear about the Princess callipers as a good upgrade. Or would it be best to stick with the old TR7 2 pot callipers, change the disks and buy green stuff page? </b></font id="Verdana"></font id="green">

I have some slightly bigger HiSpec calipers on the car since last year

Till date absolute perfect performance from them.

Revington TR do various upgrade kits based on HiSpec calipers.
It all depends how you drive the car [:D]

<b><font face="Verdana"><font color="green">I have had a look at the Revington TR site and must admit that I was put of by the cost of them when you can go to the Hi Spec site and by the callipers for £170. I will be looking at getting some uprated disks though and then getting the callipers after. I have seen on the Robsport site that they supply these disks (which are vented I think). </b></font id="Verdana"></font id="green">

S&S supply a kit comprising Capri 2.8i vented discs, spacers and Capri calipers - I've got them fitted to my V8 - with greenstuff pads - and they're great!

Passing thought - do you have 13" wheels? A lot of these brake mods require you to fit larger wheels to clear the calipers.

<b><font color="green"><font face="Verdana">Yep I have got the 13â€￾ wheels on my can and was looking to keep them if I could as I have just brought a new set of reconditioned ones and think they on the whole look quite good on the TR. Does the Capri callipers need the bigger wheels or can they be fitted on the 13â€￾ ones?
That is the thing I was looking at too. I want to get a calliper that I will be able to get the pads for relatively easy. Do not want to be in the position where I can not get any pads in a few years time.
Do you know roughly how much the kits from S&S cost?

Hi Phil,
Just noticed a pair of Princess calipers on Ebay, being sold by Robsport. These will fit with 13 inch wheels.

Yes the princess calipers will fit TR7 13inch rims though you may need a 4mm wheel spacer when using them with tr7 steel wheels. Factory alloys do fit without spacers but ironically one of the five factory alloys I have for my car drags a little on the caliper. The answer was to use the 4mm wheel spacer with the alloys as well. Problem fitted.

I presume you're reffering to the HiSpec ones and not the Leyland boat anchors [:p]
