Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

I finally put the engine back together. I think I am going to get a Morespeed front bumper before I paint it. Here are some pics of the engine.

Nice work but I'm a bit confused by your user name. I think I should have it. [:)]
Just got my 8 with a new 3.9 running a couple weeks ago. Nothing like hearing a new engine fire for the first time. Hope yours runs & sounds good too.

How long of a wait are we looking at? I am not going to be ready for a while. I still have to prep and paint under the hood first. The install the engine and get it running and the rest of the bugs worked out. Gonna probably be several months.

Neigbors leave me alone as long as I keep my garage closed when I am working on it. Not sure how we are going to paint it. Probably have to piss them off one more time.

Thanks
John

Update on the neigborhood----Once my Lawyer sent a few letters and I sent enough huge pictures of real violations and shut the HOA presidents server down, I stopped getting letters. We sold the boat and now that the TR8 carcass is gone I can fit all my cars in the garage. I also think the jerkoff that was reporting me finally sold his house. And the best part is they went and fixed the real problems in the neigborhood and stopped bothering me about crap.

new orders will most likely not get out until after the new year. [:(]

But, I'm working hard to get the back orders out.

John, just in case you've missed them (and you probably haven't!) don't forget the front cylinder head to block bolts as they're not in place in the photo.

And what a strange location for the distributor! Do you find any improvement in timing as a result?!?

So that's what they look like underneath all the oil - I've always wondered!

Your alternator belt is looking a little loose. [;)]

I wont be ready for the bumper before then anyway.

I figured the dizzy was best installed after the engine was in the car. The bolts for the front of the head were not correct, so I am trying to find suitable replacements.

I am trying to decide if I am going to install the clutch fan back to the engine or go with an electric. The clutch fan robs a lot of power.

Go with the electric! Safer and give you a lot more room in the engine bay.
