Are TR7 and 8 wheels interchangable? Are they both 13 inches?

Im ten minutes new to your TR7 forum and a little over a year into owning my 79 TR7 rag top. Im looking to put new rims on and Im not to hot on the idea of panasports. But for some reason every rim distibutor in the Chicagoland area tells me Im out of luck. Ive checked out the rims on the photo album pages and like the five spoke pony style rim seen on the TRickett TR (brother of TRisha TR)from the Ashby Foville event. So I guess Im asking where are all of you finding "any style" of rim, other than panasport, for your cars??? And what terminalogy due I tell them to look up because locally here in Chicago, Illinois they seem to not exist???????
I know Id like 15", over 14 or of course 13, and that I don't want to change anything else...

Superlight makes rims also but the ones I've seen look like the Panasports. I have 14" Panasports that I got when I first bought the car many years ago. I highly recomend going 15" since the tire choice is much better. Unfortunately for me, another set of rims isn't in the budget. Others will probably chime in on alternatives. I believe the bolt circle is 97mm which is an odd size. I believe Spitfires and some Lotus are the only others shareing the bolt pattern.

Actually the bolt circle is 3.75 inches by 4 bolt...

Did you guys in the States ever have the recent Rover MGF or MGTF sports car imported?

Just wondered as the MGF alloys are a direct fit onto the 7 - exactly the right PCD of 3.75" (95.25mm). There are different styles but all fit - the most common style is a minilite lookalike. The alloys are 15" by 6J or 16" by 7J & make for an easy upgrade if you have the MGF over there!

Not that I am aware of, a quick search on Fleabay for MGF wheels only showed UK listings, quite affordable, but shipping was $500.00!!!! I'd love a set of those 5 spoke 15 inchers (or 38.1 cm for you lads on the other side of the pond)[:)]

Actually even here on the Euro continent we still us inches for the wheel dimensions [:p]

Wheels here in UK are still measured in inches - although for a while there was a rumour that they would be 'size 15' or 'size 16' etc. However all that has now thankfully been knocked on the head, and Imperial measure IS allowed!
The MGF wheels are by far the cheapest option - visit UK for a holiday (vacation) and take them back as baggage!

Hi i do love those
wheels! sorry everyone its been a while since posting anything on our site, been busy like we all are work work and more work, just wanted to try and establish what the difference is with WOLFRACE WHEELS and SLOT MAG WHEELS, cos id love a set one day for my 7, only thing thats putting me off at the moment getting any (abeit rare they are on ebay ) is the centre caps never seem to be sold with them, and im told they are hard to come by.

I found some BMW centre caps from about 1993, which fitted the after
market wheels on my 7, & would fit my oroginal TR8 wheels, with just
a bit of massaging.

The BMW logo was just a stick on transfer, easily removed.

Have a look around the wreckers.

Hi all i know in the past ive asked this but i was just wondering daft as it may sound but what is the didfference between them both? its just ive seen another set on ebay, ive got to be honest im still not sure bout this PCD thing 5.5 i believe, but could someone email me or wite on here the exact measuremnets etc that i need so i can be sure before i get exact a set for my 7.

Steve,The PCD is 3.75 inches or 95.25 mm.The standard tr7 wheel offset is 25 mm. I think the MG F offset is 20 mm but it will fit the TR's hub.
