Brake switch washer position?

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Brake switch washer position?

Postby bonnietiler » 12 Jul 2020 17:38

I have lost both rear brake lights, I have removed the switch under the brake pedal and cleaned it to little effect, I replaced same and not altogether surprisingly had exactly the same result, nothing, I have ordered a new switch but when mine came off , it kind of fell off and I notice an interesting washer with a rebate on one side, I'm assuming that the nut sits on top of this but which way round does the rebate go?
Many thanks
Brian

Not sure of the answer to your question (can't remember now) but they are known for the bracket bending and hence either stopping them working or making them on full time. I had the latter after doing some work around the pedal area when I must have leant on it somehow, a simple bend back corrected it.
