I am also on the hunt for new or replacement door seals for my fhc. They seem to be harder to get then hens teeth. On my car at the moment I have the ones in the top picture, with the hollow inside.

The two seals do look the same though. Where did you find the replacement ones? There is a guy on eBay selling some nos by the yard. Not too sure what they are like though.

I fitted new seals about 15 years ago. They were not the original, but close enough.

They started coming apart, with the tube coming off the attachment bit after about 6 years. Gave up looking for replacements after a year or so, & attached the tube to the base with black Sikaflex as a temporary repair.

Most of that repair has lasted longer than the original.

I will replace them if something decent appears.

I am trying to determine if the bottom picture is the original seal for the TR7. I don't understand why they have another piece inside the main seal. Any idea's guys.
Would any one be interested in the newer style in the first photo if it is the same dimensions as what appears to be the originals?

I suspect it is to give the rubber tube more body. I'm pretty sure it's not original. My left door seal was broken in several spots at the bottom (empty tube) so I got a good used one from Robsport so don't have any experience with new replacements.

I am in the process of trying to get some fhc door seals from macgregorukcarparts.com. They are away until the end of the month so I cannot order them yet. When I do it will be a 5 week delivery time. However, when I get them I will let you know what they are like.

For anyone that is interested I plan to have new original style door seals in limited supply, approx Feb 18, these are NOT generic make do seals. (refer photos attached).
Also anyone with ORIGINAL Seals on a DHC please shoot me the following.
1. Exact length of the seal
2. Photo of the ends showing if they are open or closed off
Anyone interested in new seals contact me via this forum pvt message service.
As a side note one of the photos of an old seal showed and internal rubber piece, when we cut open an original seal we found the internal piece was inserted in a small section of the main body, as someone said possibly as support.

Phil,
I just got new door seals from Greg Tunstall Mechanical, the Triumph & Land Rover specialist here in Brisbane.

He found them somewhere in Canada he told me, perhaps out of interest, or to justify the eye watering price of the things.

What ever the case, they are available from him right now. The first time in about 10 years, so worth the cost in my opinion.

Sorry Tzorzo, they are on their way, but the couriers are a bit busy & slow right now, so I haven't actually seen them yet. Fortunately I trust this supplier.

The price was a little over A$300.

I am organising shipment from my manufacturer around Feb 18,
What I do need in mean time is exact measurements for original DHC seal and photo of the ends to see of they are sealed off. I plan to have some of these made and cut to exact size. Are you able to assist?
