Installing a rollbar, 80 TR-7 Convertible

Postby Thomas » 20 May 2017 02:23

Looking for advice on how to install a rollbar in my TR-7. (Not anti-roll bar, read rollbar......you know the one that goes over your head and keeps you from getting killed in a rollover.

Luckily my Aley roll bar was already fitted when I got the car. Basically you need to drill bolt holes down through the shelf below the hood stowage each side, just possible without removing the tank, to bolt the top plates in. The side plates then need to be bolted through. On some cars there is a captive nut welded in (mine had it as these were not fitted when I got it), some don't seem to.
Try a search, this is one thread on it: https://www.tr7triumph.com/forum/viewtop ... =3&t=19325
