Headlining Colour

Postby REPLIC8 » 14 Oct 2016 14:12

Going to replace the headlining on Project Banana, there appears to be 2 different colour options. Off white or Sebring white. How do I tell which one I have?

Don't have either of those trim codes on my car, any other way of telling the difference?

Andy, the cars with Tan/blue check seats have off white headlining, all earlier cars have pure(Sebring) white.

I think my car has the off white lining colour. However, I not sure if that is due to time taking its toll on it and the possibility of previous owners smoking in my tr :-)

My car has a deep red valour headlining.........how very bordelloesque
Combine that with the rad tartan seats and there's a lot going on in there!

I had a couple of smallish tears in my headliner, as well as a lot of yellowing (glue?). A vinyl repair kit, and rattle can of vinyl paint turned it into a job I'm proud of. If this will work for your project, remember to mask off everything else (or strip the interior), and do the sun visors.

Fastman,
Vynilkote spray is an option I'm looking into. The headlining is in good condition but has gone off colour and has glue stains showing through.

When I did my repaint of the headliner, I was also changing the heater matrix (dash out), having the seats recovered, and installing sound deadening (no interior). This allowed me to spray all of the liner including the areas that are overlapped by other trim pieces. Remember to use light coats to avoid any drips/runs, and mask off the wires from your interior light. If I was to do it again, I would fish the wiring through the headliner for my auto darkening mirror prior to the painting work. Remember to also remove the u-shaped finisher trim from the front of the liner too. I seem to recall giving the yellowing pieces a first coat before doing the entire project.

My interior is pretty much all gone so no problem there. :D
