Green Tartan Material

Threads came from Tartan.
I'll pick my idea and then pass it around the country to also pick.

If all goes to plan a recovered seat with the new green tartan reproduction will be on display at the NEC Restoration Show on the TR Drivers Club stand. Member Steve Bishop is having his seats and door cards restored with the new material right now and will bring a seat along on the Saturday providing it's finished in time.

So to stop any uncertainty about the fabric mentioned.
John had some GT made up.
This is not the material I am having made.
His is on the left.

Sorry John, was contacted already about this and wanted to end any confusion

Don't worry about any confustion - you're in America I believeand Steve is in England. The darker green is something he preferred having suffered from colour fade previously and under advice and preferring the look went for a darker option. As a club we may follow this up in future but only if the present material sells. His seats are away right now so we're hopeful to be able to display a fully recondition green tartan seat at the NEC Restoration Show.

For information, I still have new red tartan material and I do think the original red colour looks better than a darker option. Green is a little different and so worth giving the darker colour some consideration. But after the red tartan, green tartan is my next favourite TR7 interior.

Hi Don, I thank you for the information.

I hope the selected Green suits the door panels (mine are new and Intesiv green) I think the color will be paler by the sun and darker through the dirt, so new it can be more intensive like the Door panel behind.

OK, I'm happy to hear from you - have a good time

Anyone have any pictures of the NEC seat(s)? Mine will be heading off to the trimmers in the next couple of months and I would like to keep the tartan look.

Drop me an email Prackers and next time I get a chance I'll crop out a little wmv video of the seat at the NEC and send it to you. That goes for anyone interested and if there's a lot of interest I'll slap the video up on YouTube.

Hi

Just got an email from the house of tartan. Looks like they are going to weave some green tartan. They have had quite a few in enquiries and decide to do a run.

I know he emailed me the day I was getting on an airplane for holiday.
I just got back and I think it is going to be the dark color
But not sure
Have corresponded with him just this AM to see what he chose to do.
It seems the threads he sent me matched different panels depending on age I guess
So the question is.
Do you make fabric that matches old panels ...or new ones?

So far they are leaning to these colors
186 (2nd)
128
341 (Don't even see that one)
Neither match my new door card but who knows

So Will Parris matched to 186,
Bill Muntz matches with 443, but said 211 was a close 2nd
and I matched with 211
