Whatever you do, make sure you don't form a hard spot in the hood. If you do the flexing will all be localised & the repair edge will crack sooner or later.
My son poked 2 holes with the frame, in a near new mohair hood, folding it badly, before reading the instructions. We took it to a good trimmer who sewed patches on the inside. They are now getting tired, but it is 12 years later.
If a vinyl hood, I'd try some of the adhesive used to repair swimming pool liners, & a small piece of vinyl, on the inside. That stuff has to handle full sun, & remain flexible for years.
