FHC door seals

I was just wondering if there were any plans to have the one piece door rubbers for the FHC remanufactured?

I have good ones on mine but at 35+ years old the rubber surely can't seal like it used to?

I notice a few previously unavailable items have started to be remanufactured and this addition would certainly help the usability of our cars.

Happy with them but you have to cut and shape the top corner and it is not easy to do.

This is something that I have been looking into myself and not having much joy. I have been looking for some rubbers myself to replace the once that I have.

I contacted macgregorukcarparts.com and got a reply. However, I was unable to get a clear price and I just did not know if it was OK sending money over and not knowing what the product was like.

I contacted some of the main suppliers and they cannot help with new ones. I would be eager to see how this goes as I am looking for new FHC door seals too.

I find it hard to believe that we cannot get door seals in the UK though.

I replaced my originals, which were not actually too bad with some generic door seals from EBay, company called Monkeydub iirc. They fit a lot better than "my" originals and were around £20 (ish) a side with enough left over for a third.

Hi prackers, thank you for the reply. I have had a look and the door seals that they sell, sure look like they would be good and it is a reasonable price too, which is always a bonus.

Looking at the universal section, there is a few to choose from (large, medium 1 and so on). Which is the one that you ordered and have got the good fit with?

That sure looks a better fit on your car, than it does with the original ones on my door

Initially I bought a sample pack from them, the door seals I used were the jumbo size (33mmx20mm), I also used their products for the underbonnet and boot seals and am happy with the results so far. They are dead easy to fit the only bit that needs some care is where they meet at the top corner of the door so as to get a near invisible joint. One advantage I found over the originals, is being cut to length they seem to fit better. With the originals it appeared that they had shrunk and it was near impossible to get them seated all the way round without them pulling themselves off somewhere within a day of fitting?

If you google "pinch weld seal" you'll see there are quite a few similar profiles available, but none I have seen are an exact match.

Thanks for that guys. I have just been able to look at the replies. I think I will try the sample too with the intention of going for the jumbo size.
I have found that the ones I have on currently have srunk too and now there is about a 2 inch gap in the top corner where the seal is not meeting the body.
It is nice to know that we can still get seals though as I was starting to worry that it would be like finding rocking horse do do ☺
