Thanks for the replies Chaps, its good to see how you are getting on with your covers.

I can see the covers with the tie straps are going to hold it in place, but I don't want to grovel around underneath tying them.
I'm moving my convertible out to the front of the house and aim to MOT it, so it will be in the elements for a while, plus I'm going to be finishing it off and test drives etc so an easy to get on and off cover would be best, but I can see now there doesn't seem to be one out there.
I did buy a blue one from Argos a few years ago (they don't sell it anymore) and that was fully elasticated and a tight snug fit and never came off, but it only lasted a couple of years.

If you want a cheap cover to get by Lidl are doing them for £11.99 next Thursday. No idea what they are like though.

Just found out where my nearest Lidl is - just what I need for the cars I am working on. Thanks for posting this info saabfast

This was my problem, normally good at grovelling but under the car is not so good. The fixings on the early cheap covers I had were a sort of nylon cord which you had to throw under and knot and then try to undo again, and they rotted. The Coverzone ones are about 1" wide straps with the sort of squeeze clip fixings you get on rucksacks, much better but you still need to try and throw them across under the car. That's why I changed to the foldback stationery clips , about 2" wide, which seem to clip the cover to the sill flanges and bumpers well without grovelling too much, and are much quicker to apply and remove.
