Love to see old style rally cars being used properly, not only for show. Just wish I had one.......

The ex Tony Pond/Cyril Bolton/works/Unipart TR7V8, HRW250V is taking part in the event, its driven by its 3rd owner (before Unipart), Phillip Young and his co driver is none other than Per Eklunds navigator Hans Sylvan.

Unfortunately it has had to retire a few stages from the end with a seized engine ...

EAT 400T has the same names on the car as you mention Chris so how is it related to HRW250V?

I always remember the rally TR7V8's from back in the day, great stuff!

I see its fitted with what looks like a Lumenition Optronic module on the near side wing. Mine's still going strong after 23 years.

Are those 4 Webers or Dellorto carbs on the top?

Apparantly the car being used was EAT400T,until recently it was not known which would be used. EAT is probably a better bet for a forest rally. The cars are not related. HRW is a real ex works car, EAT is a superb modern day rally car upgraded to compete.

1979 FIA rally machine is a £110,000 evocation of Pond's 1980 Ypres-winning car. It is finished in the correct livery and powered by a four-Weber engine that's was only driven three events and 1,000 miles from new, and is coupled to a five-speed close ratio gearbox.
