Just done a few bits of bodywork such as the headlight pods etc, getting ready for next years 40th anniversary of production starting at Speke. As long as I have known the car it has had gold decals,we have used gold replacements for continuity. Not sure whether to use black decals this time as in the 1976 brochure. I know it would probably have had black originally but I like the gold ones.

I had a very early 75 coupe like vin 100 and it was French blue with black decals? I thought gold would have looked nice too.

Chris - Is there really an 'As Standard' rule?
Seems that more-or-less anything could, and did, leave the factory, subject to what was in the nearest parts bin at the time!

If you like Gold, go for Gold. I doubt that even the most excessive purist would even notice - and if they do, so what?

After all, Replicate's new mint, low-mileage car left the factory with no de-misting vents fitted, and it's been like that for thirty years. Now there's a conundrum. Leave it 'Original', or return it to what it should have been when it left the factory.

Also says a lot about the PDI Inspection that was\should have been carried out at the Dealership....!

Just my humble opinion!
