Slow wipers

Postby nick » 26 Nov 2013 19:36

Is there something to be done to speed up my windscreen wipers. They seem very weak on all settings. They hardly move on dry glass.

As a matter of course, the first winter I took mine apart, cleaned the rack, reapplied fresh grease. They're fine. Make sure all wire connections are clean so you're getting full electrical power to the motor.

Don't worry about it Nick, you only need fast wipers, AFTER you put the V8 in it.

As FI Spider says, fully re grease everything, I also found the original triumph wiper blades work best & I also treated my windscreen with "rain-x" which helped a lot. I fact the water cleared so well you hardly need the wipers anyway. [:)]

Hi,

We use a product similar to ' Rain X ' at work on some of our convertible side windows ( 3 series E93 ), it helps prevent capillary action where water can work its way roof seals and into car, that stuff really works

As others say lubrication is always a good thing !

Cheers John

I also use a similar product on all my cars called Aqua-pel.

Barely use the wipers over 40kmph , I also use a lot less windsheild washer fluid + it makes scraping the glass on frosty morning a breeze!

I've used Rain-X on the Integra but while the rain would roll off like mentioned, I didn't like the way the wipers worked (cleared) on it so I stopped using it.

I don't know anything about scraping glass on a frosty morning.[:p][8D]
