TR7 pic in local paper

A photo I'd never seen before has appeared in a local "free" paper amidst an article celebrating Red Rum the amazing horse which won the Grand National horse race in 1973, 1974 & 1977.

It shows a staged publicity event where a TR7 was supposed to race against the horse on Southport beach but, as you can read, it didn't happen. As ever the press can't resist a pop at the car.

Although not very clear I think the driver might be Ginger McCain, Red Rum's trainer, who also had a local BL franchise at the time.

Great pic, love all the nostalgic period pics of 7's,, does nothing to quell my itch for a Speke car.
