Postby slob.h@tiscali.co.uk » 29 Aug 2012 18:08

Does anyone know of a suitable near as original replacement for the grey foam strip fitted to the top and bottom of the instrument cluster ?

I use a 1/2" X 3/16 neoprene foam rubber strip, with one side adhesive. It is available from most marine shops, & specialist rubber outlets.

Ordinary foam rubber is not much use, as it compresses completely in a very short time.

I did just that, bought a roll of self adhesive foam strip from a DIY store.

Navigate to cpc.co.uk homepage then search for MDM-5 speaker acoustic foam strips.

Inexpensive & looks just like the original when in place. It's a tad narrower in width than original but if you position it carefully you will not notice. I think there are 5 strips in a bag so plenty for the job.
