Hi Clay!

The sooner we know the exact dates the better, are you thinking early, mid or late June? And are NON-Texas wedges allowed? My daughter was born in Austin and I lived there for over 10 years, does that count me as a Texas Wedge? :-) It IS a 900 mile drive though...

I am thinking the second Saturday in June, but more arrangements have to be made first.

All TR7s and TR8s are welcome! I haven't decided if this is going to be on my dime or if there will be a nominal registration fee. I depends on how many cars register. I figure that there will less than 20. If more than 20 show interest, then there would probably have to be a small fee. Good Bar-B-Que doesn't come cheap!

Please surprise me!

Gentlemen,

Three months ago, I started thinking of putting together a gathering of Wedges here in Texas. I was able in one week to find the venue, get the catering, Police officers, venders scheduled to show their products, get a sponsor for the car wash and book a keynote speaker. The venue is willing to advertise the event locally as a neighborhood outreach.

Then the issue of Event Insurance came up. I have spent two months talking to various insurance companies (Allstate, Haggerty, etc.) trying to get coverage. I asked VTR if I could get coverage and then TWOA but I have hit a brick wall.

I am tired.

I go to club meeting all the time where they say we need more youthful people to be interested in our cars. It is just too difficult to meet the insurance requirements. I would like to thank all those who have been helping me with this effort!

The Texas Wedge Ralley and Picnic is dead. I have learned my lesson so that my later days will be prosperous, chocolate coated, if I don't bite off more than I can chew.
