That is an amphibious VW Schwimmwagen as used by the Wermacht in WW2, it was based on the Kubbelvagen which was based on the early Beetle chassis & engine.

I remember building an Airfix model of the schwimmwagen when I was a lot younger than I am now.
I also managed to get to Duxford about 2pm and had a good afternoon looking at the cars and the aircraft, nice weather and a Spitfire buzzing the airfield - Bliss [:p] [:D]
