Don't start Pb compression

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

I am also not sure if it is possible to remove the pistons from the underside of the block [8)]

Fathi - the pistons cannot be passed through the bottom of the engine - the main bearing webs are in the way.

Assembling connecting rods with old hardware is a bad idea. Once installed, the bolts are stretched. Get new nuts and bolts - they are cheap - especially compared to a bottom end failure. The nuts are 12 point.

Bite the bullet - do it once, do it right.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply to everybody.
I had dismount the head and had take out the 4 pistons ,for 3 pistons the oil rings were sticking (just oil ring the last one).
I had also see that the cylinders had a worn ring in there middle ; i think it's because the car had stay out 5 years without runnig so humidity had come.
I had clean the oil ring do you think that i will allways have zero compression without make something for the cylinder orit can run like this.
Somebody had the same problem about the cylinder ?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

If I were you I would put new rings on the pistons to start with.

As for the cylinders, you mentioned a "wear" ring in the middle of the bores. That will probably be caused by the rings . Clean out the bores thoroughly but make sure you don't scour the cylinder wall, and check for wear.

Also check the top of the bores for a wear ridge at the top of the rings travel.

Fathi - Now that you have the engine stripped down, have you taken any measurements? Bore size and condition (out of round, taper)and piston size to determine clearance are all vitally important things you'll need to know if you want the engine to live a long, healthy life.

Could it work by just re-ringing and hoping for the best? Maybe. Or, maybe not. If you aren't checking this stuff, it would be a crapshoot.

Fit a new complete set of rings - and de-glaze the bores with some emery paper or a proper hone tool. Anything less is going to be a bodge - and won't last 10 minutes.
