Ok, here is another shot of it with a smaller photo. I will switch to photo bucket from now on. This is still from geocities but I resized it before uploading it. You also get a shot of the bug in the background. Also the other view from the drivers side.[;)]

Here is picture of the 1980 DHC. Also, I have an inline fuel filter before the fuel pump, is that normal? Manual says there isn't one but there it is. Maybe PO put it there huh? <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

The inline filter will have been added by the PO, it wasn't standard fitment as there is a filter gauze in the pump. However it is a lot easier to catch the crud before it reaches the pump & change that in line filter from time to time, than cleaning the filter gauze in the pump!

That's s fine looking example. I can't believe you got that with that low mileage for $950 - congrats!

Yep, I replaced the plugs and plug wires because it developed a miss on the way home, that fixed the miss, and I am also waiting on a new rotor cap and distributor cap, it has the Delco Remy electronic distributor installed. Now I need to find out what is wrong with the windshield wipers(not the fuse). Haven't checked the wiring at the motor yet.

Looks like a great buy. You have to remember it's 27 years old and the electrical connections are not sealed as in the modern cars (except for headlight raising circuits on later cars including this one). Even if it hasn't seen much moisture the air polution will get to them. Some where, sometime, they are going to cause a problem, not all at once or course but I dare say, they are the cause of most problems you'll run into in the future. The answer is to clean them, coat with dielectric grease one at a time till they are all done. The good news is this can be done as time permits.

I don't see any decals on the car which must mean it was repainted. The original colour?

According to the underside of the hood, or bonnet if you will, it was a green color. The reason the milage is so low, 10,120 now, is because it was wrecked early on, the hood damaged, and the car set in a garage for years. Finally was repaired and repainted, still has a small crack, about two inches long, in the front bumber. Frame wasn't damaged and nothing else was hurt on the car. It was a low speed accident. I know all this because I am, just barely, aquainted with the original owner and good friends with the second owners, the ones I bought it from.

As for moisture, it has taken a toll on some of the electrical already, probably what is wrong with the windshield wipers, and of course some suface rust under the hood, but nothing serious as far as rust goes. Learning how everything works and is located is the hard part[;)]

Correction on the paint. The original color was white. The hood was replaced, with a green one, a few years ago when they decided to start driving the car again and it was repainted white. The rest of the pain is original. The woman I bought it from was afraid to drive it much because, in her words, "it is too small and scares me to drive it on the road with all those trucks!". Lucky for me.

Calex-that's funny,I was going to ask about the hood,as it appeared to be a single bump hood from the front photos. The last few years had a double bump hood (see Stevie A's red car in this post). All in all,a very nice looking car! On the manuals,I have seen the Bentley manual on eBay as low as $10 (I think I paid $20 for mine off of there and it was in mint condition). There are two of those manuals, one is for the early cars,it is red colored, and the other is more comprehensive and covers all years,it is more of a rust color (how appropriate, lol)[:o)]

The book in Amazon.ca (by Brooklands) says it's up to 1981. Looks red but I suppose it could be rust. Maybe Bentley Pub. colours were different.
