My thought was to have them made up in the exact body color, but totally flat (no gloss). I saw a sort of "banding" done on a local hot-rod/muscle car that was like this, and the effect was both subtle and stunning. Has anyone seen this done?

I'd like to see this done Could be exceptional. Also would like to see body colour translucent over chrome.

Gaz, anyone who goes through total resto like you have done is a hero in my books. Nicely done.

I am for the time being keeping the original wheels and trims although ... the trims need a bit of a resoration job themselves when the previous owner had it stored some numpty's tried to set fire to the garage it was kept in which ruined certain items on the car of which the trims didn't esape, and so its there turn... when i got the decals done i also got them to make up some new centres for them basicly chrome viynl discs with blue (to match the car) TRIUMPH logo
now im thinking satin black for the trims but not sure how it will look has anyone got any pics of dark 7s with dark wheels so i can get an idea...........anr/or i am sure i have seen a post on here linking to a website where you can upload you car pic and try different wheels?????????

i for one would also like to see a decal for the forum made available

Ah man, they look superb Gaz !!!!!!!! **** Thumbs up ***(

Paul, I made the tr7.com decals up a few year back ,with help from a friend who runs a graphics shop.

There was some light talk about doing something along these lines back then, I had sent a few samples off to Jay, and he was also looking into static window stickers, but they were going to be a tad pricey. There was some talk about perhaps running off a batch of stickers or two, but I think it got put on the back burner for some reason....
(maybe it could of had to do with my wife popping out babies or something at the time, lol?????)

They were just simple small vynil decals made out of 3M materials ,and were if I remember correctly going to cost me a couple of bucks each (possibly less), basically just to cover material charges depending on how many I actually made.

With permission from Trisha, maybe we could look back into this , if the demande was there......I'm game to handle it, if you guys want!

Ron.

Hi Ron
I would definitaly be interested in a couple of sets.
Regards Moe

I wonder if it possible to ask another question related to this topic? I need to replace the TR7 transfer on the front of the car between the headlamps, it is the original type (not laurel or badge). Are there any measurments to follow to get get it in the correct position? Thanks for your help. Simon.

Simon,
When I recently replaced the decals on my 1975 I used a 1975 brochure as a reference. Placement is difficult as there aren't any straight lines on the front of the car for reference. I ended up centering the decal and placing it slightly below the level of the top of the headlight pods.
The correct decals look much better than the Canley decals that a PO had installed but the pics make the car look tatty. Time for a respray back to the original French Blue I think!

Cheers,
Rich
