Running in oil?

Postby claypole1360 » 19 Apr 2015 08:49

Which oil do you recommend for running in a rebuilt V8 engine?
Thanks, Calvin

Nothing special, a basic 20/50 and change it at 500 miles, you don't want any modern stuff with loads of friction modifiers.

Thanks Mate, that's what we were going to do, just eliminating nagging doubts. Calvin

Always use good quality oil when running in an engine. If Penrite is available in the UK, they market a good mineral oil specifically for running in.

The only acceptable use for cheap oils is for treating fence posts to discourage termites.
