Hasbeen, your mention of the old Morgan made me think of this new one I saw at their stand at the Classic car show yesterday. Not a very good picture because of the numbers of people getting in the way but you can get the idea.
A front end with all the fancy electronics, huge brakes and a big V8 engine mated to the old fashioned ash frame. Looked weird and I wonder how much scuttle shake you get with that.

I still want one Russ, but not nearly enough to spend the sort of money they cost today. Hell, I don't think I could afford to buy my old 62 +4 back today.

It is a strange world today. My new 1962 Morgan +4 cost a bit more than an MG A, & a bit less than a TR3. It was about right in the middle, between the 2, with a few performance options. In those days an air filter was an optional extra.

Interesting that I could afford a new Morgan as a 22 year old, but would have to sell the house to buy one today.

Incidentally it does look as if they have put some real effort into making that scuttle shake free.

That would be much better than the girder I nearly broke my toes when I took mine offwas much heavier than I was expecting!

Another great advantage of removing those sagging weights is that the removal and fitment of the bumper becomes, instead of a one and a half man job, simply a one man job!

If the front and rear bumpers are reduced in weight significantly does the car sit noticeably higher on its suspension springs ?
