I spoke to the owner yesterday and I live in Wi. He told me 4500.00 and yes its rusty underneath and the shock towers have rust he said. He quit driving it because of the rust issues YEARS ago and let it sit out side. I told him I was thinking in the 1500.00-2000.00 range and he said no way he can part it out for more than that. Whether its true or not he said someone from Mn offered him 14K for it a while back so he has that value as a bench mark and some one from a TR7 or Triumph club called him and went on a on about how cool and rare the car is but left out the fact that you can pick up a pretty nice TR8 here in the US for 7-10K that's ready to drive.

I think it is. A couple of nice drivable TR8's around here went for for 4 to 5K this past year. I think you're spot on at 1 to 2K.

There is a TR3 driveable but needing restoration as it's been stored for some time, it was running when put into storage. They will let it go for very little to some one that will restore it. You can get some good deals if you wait for them. It was offered to me but I just can't use another car.

It may be a rare car but seems to have a lot of brown stuff. This car was for sale this past September at Fort Rodd Hill show for $6,500. No rust, fresh paint. Looked good except the paint was a little thin on the hood louvres. Rather have a good running cheap car than a rare one. (already got one of those).

Well done with the rescue,although I think TR7 owners are quick to "reshell" rather than repair.At the risk of starting a well worn topic amongst many UK classic forums a reshell loses the car's identity unless a new manufacturers shell is used.The question is "who would know,except those you choose to tell"Again well done and enjoy.Steve..

Well done on rescuing this one, looks like Clint and Woody will have there work cut out.

Have to agree with my hounrable friend Soncar reshell looses its ID a bit like Triggers broom [:D]

The body shell is only a component theoretically. You have to look at economics as well sometimes with a restoration. Which ever way you go Christopher is fine by me as that car needs to be saved. Glad you've got it.

This one was originally NAB - the same colour as Roy's ACG5 and the car will be restored to its originally condition.

Congrats on the purchase , I'm very glad you will be saving the car as it deserves better treatment than it has received in the past few years!

A pre-prod is worth every penny, hope you keep us up to speed on the progress of the car ....... i.e. we want pics!

Well done Christopher, you are saving and restoring so many rare and wonderful wedges that, possibly might not of ever got round to being done, ACG 44 being a prime example.[:)]

And you keep them original (love that)[:p]

Thanks Roy - ACG44A is nearly out of the body-shop ... soon to be in it's original Topaz ... I reckon I am about 2 weeks from starting the very very slow refitting process.

I will do a separate post on other cars ...
