I am so looking forward to the event, I must admit that I admire everyone who has put in so much effort. With regards to the event on Saturday I have organised at MIRA, we plan to meet at 1000 am for tea and coffee, I have had to scrounge a mini bus so I can give those attending a track tour around the tracks that the TR7 was tested upon, we then have some filming to do with John Clancy and MIRA around the high speed circuit with Gordon Birtwistle and then onto the dry handling circuit for a chance for Gordon to be at the wheel of a 1976 early car.I am afraid no cameras allowed on the day as we have prototypes driving around but our photographer is on hand to take the pictures you require and we will forward them on. The wedge wall and a TR7 on a display ramp will be set up outside our new control tower for photos. I will see if we can also get a couple of photos of the visitors cars all together on the test hills. Anyway see some of you Friday for a drink and the rest on Saturday or over the weekend.
Paul

Three days to go before the big gathering at Gaydon. Anyone travelling a big distance to get there?

Just going to meet up with John Clancy, Andrew Pointer and Paul Lewis to finalise the final details. See some if you tomorrow and most of you on Sunday. Safe Driving.

The Liverpool Echo are doing a piece and will have a photographer there on Sunday for the departures.

Gordon Birtwistle, Triumph's high speed development engineer, will be joining us at the hotel this evening and seeing the cars off from Speke tomorrow. We'll also have a couple of classic car mag journalists staying and joining us on the complete run. So currently on paper we've managed to set up everything we proposed at the beginning of the year when we met to discuss a commemorative weekend for the TR7.

See many of you later today and most of you tomorrow. Get those cars out and on the road ready to go!

Well, been home a while now and I can say that I have had a wonderful day. From the faultless and exciting drive in the 7V8 (realised today that the speedo reads 60 and the satnav reads 82...oops) to the conversations I had with Harris Mann and Tony Lee. I talked to the man who designed my car!!!!
I have finally met some of the faces from this forum which has been a goal, nice to meet you John C, John and Chris and anyone else I have missed out.
I realise having seen so many cars (107) today that mine is as good as anyones, you don't really get a feel for what a good TR7 looks like because you just don't see them around. So thanks to those who organised today and Saturday, sorry that I couldn't hang round for that chat John Clancy, dinner was being cooked and my 8 year old had to go to bed.
Some pics.

AN idea of the vastness of the event.

Looking on the web site 'How many left' and there are approximately 293 Tr7 on the road (690 SORN) in 2014 Q2. I've read somewhere the official number of 7's to turn up was 107 [:D]

That means more than a 3rd (36.5%) of 7's on the road actually turned up. What a fantastic turn out. Well done to all who organised this and have the wheels been put in to motion for the 50th anniversary yet [?]

Again a very big and fantastic well done for all who organised and turned up [8D][:D]
