I really wanted to make it to this but it's just not going to happen again this year. The only option I can see is to run up there first thing Saturday morning and back Saturday night. I can't really see paying the $60 entry fee for a few hours at the show. The last ATDI I made it to was the one in 2009 after I first got the car running but I still had an issue with the title and registration so I couldn't yet drive it. I like catching up with the folks from California and Canada that you only seem to see at the ATDI unless you make it to Triumphest. I am still going to be at the Portland All British, as far as I know.

Jim - sorry you can't make it. I counted 9 or 10 Wedges in the parking lot tonight. Looking for Dan.

A great weekend at the ATDI. Good weather, good people, good food, and 150 Triumphs. I counted 11 TR8s and 5 TR7s including one coupe. Dan picked up first in class for 7s. I think he owes me a beer in return for my vote!

Beers all around! Fun show plus held at the LeMay Family Collection, where there are warehouses stuffed full of hundreds of classic cars. Some amazing cars perfectly restored, others in all states of disrepair. Rows and rows and overhead racks of cars, but only a small part of their 3,500 car collection! I took some pics, but not as many as I should have. I'll try to get them posted.

Had to drive up to Seattle this morning, saw three Triumphs headed south on I5, including a hot pink Spitfire. I assume they were all heading home from Tacoma.

I had to go to Lynnwood yesterday. I did swing by the Murano motel around 10 but it was pretty well cleared out by then. I saw a gold '81 that was heading south on I-5 just before I got to Tacoma. Next year I'll try to make it. I will be at the Portland ABFM in a couple weeks.

Also, when I was just north of Olympia a group of 3 Datsun 1600/2000/Fairlady s merged onto I-5. They all had British Columbia plates. It was kind of cool, I see Triumphs on the road more often than I see old Datsun roadsters.

Jim, we were at Griots Garage by the time you got there. Tech session on reviving tired paint. Pretty amazing what they were able to do on a very weathered TR6. The ATDI next year will be at the Oregon Garden south of Portland. See you at PIR!

Great stuff, thanks. Wish we could produce such a group here.

Is that a pink TR6 in the background of the photo of you Ken?

If so I want one. I wonder if it belongs to a lady? What ever, but it should sure attract the hair dresser crowd.

Hasbeen: The TR6 was magenta, but there was a bright pink Spitfire there with a front plate that said "HERZ". You can see it near the bottom in the photo of the hotel parking lot. It was in great shape.

Looking through my pics I didn't take any of the cars in the show! But I did get some from the museum collection, mostly big American steel:

That was the one I saw southbound on I5 on Sunday morning. Followed closely by another Spit ("HIZ"?).

Those museum shots take me back to the day. That "Barbie pink" Spitfire shows up at Portland every year (since I've been going).

That sounds like a lucky car nut, having a lady who is really interested.

I wonder if the old saying about the family that plays together stays together, I wonder if it works for the family that drives together.
