ok, last 2 and a half years or so since my divorce I lived in a bedsit with abysmal parking and had the tr7 in various locations, none close enough to allow me to work on it.

well may 31st bit the bullet and bought a house...... nothing special but it does have a garden........... front and back, corner plot, and these are a few pics of the front.......



where my celica is will be gravelled fence to wall, when built, and space for two cars, in front of the mondeo will be double drive for, yep another two cars, and where the mondeo is, once I finish digging it out, will be a double, all be it a bit snug garage, am 52 in September and finally have the garden of my dreams....[:D] just need another 3 cars now............ well am watching a morris isis on ebay, and told one of the women in work the mx5 she is selling if dropped to the right price could come my way, then........mmmmmmm another dhc? what you think guys, and no not insane,.......... well not in a legally enforceable way yet.....[:p]

Have you bought the mower yet. It looks like you have given yourself a bit of mowing to do. Still could be worse, I was silly enough to leave an acre & a quarter around the house. It took so much mowing in a wet summer I had to buy a bigger mower.

Should be a good spot for a car nut, when done. Don't forget to add a garden shed, or a lean-to to that garage, or you will find it full of said mowers & other non motoring stuff, & no room for project cars.

UK houses look strange to me. Here in northern Oz houses have a meter or more of roof overhang to keep the summer sun off the walls. Many have 2 to 3 meter wide verandas on the north & western sides to do this even better.

I know this would be counterproductive in the UK, but we are creatures of our environment, so that is what I expect to see.

I would be careful though, it is said that the number of cars that one can own has no relation to the available parking spots. I usually have one or two more. Looks like you have spots for a fleet...plus two.

Hi Dave,
Glad to see you're getting yourself sorted. My advice would be to build the biggest garage you can get permission for. You'll only do it once and they're never big enough.
Wish I had room for a second TR, but alas it's not to be. I'll just have to spend twice as much on the one I've got! (Just don't tell the wife) [:D]

well I do have sunhouse out back, posh name for plastic lean to, two sheds going out back, one car related one for everything else, and definitely electricity..............

currently block retaining wall will go round perimeter to hold back back garden as its higher than the front, bottom of fence behind mondeo back garden level, and rear fence coming forward so basically garage will be out of sight in back garden, will be timber construction and will modify the fence to double up as the doors too, once I have all the ground work done will drop plans with dimensions in and see what council says, garages in a lot of the same houses in street so cant see a problem and if they do cause problems will just pop one of the tent type mobile garages up to work under,,,,,,[:D]

If you do have to go with a tent type garage, this type of thing has a lot to recommend it. It was a greenhouse, with just an earth floor, 11Mt by 7Mt. A similar sized shed/garage was quoted from $15000 to $22000, which I'd rather spend on the cars.

The bitumen floor was $2000, & the Hypalon cover was also $2000.

It has the best natural light of any enclosed area I have ever worked in, is warmer than the shed in winter, & the coolest non air conditioned place on the property in summer.

We had boat canopies, & hoods for up to about 25 Ft, 15 passenger speed boats in the tropics made from the same material. They were still going strong at 15 years.

Do you have rear access? If not do you have rear access for vehicles on the other side of the house? If not design your garage to be a drive through to give rear access.

My daughter built a house with a double garage & no access to the back yard. They had to take the back wall out of the garage to give access for stuff when they later decided to put in a swimming pool.

You never know what you might want to do out there some day.

lol yeah it does have other windows, the house that is, garage wii as well eventually.
and I am putting in a rear doorway into the garden, though just realised when not been at the house that some toe rag been in the shed and swiped my petrol lawn mower,[:(!] and my petrol can, more cheesed off about the petrol can as the mower was a freebie that didn't even go, but needed the can to put petrol in the tr7 to move it [:(]........ whats worrying is that have a 6 foot fence all round the back and no one seems to of seen anything, sooner I actually move in the better...........

It is a back stretcher. You stand on the black bits down the bottom, & clamp your ankles with the silver bits above them.

Once clamped you lean back, on the large black padded board. This will swing you upside down. The harder you lean, the further upside down you swing.

This stretchers the back, & works even better if you do sit ups while inverted. Not easy but great for freeing pinched nerves in the back.

I had a sort of crash in an aircraft, when the engine stopped in an area where there was no open space for a forced landing. I did spread bits of aircraft through a fair few trees, but luckily with only a little bit of back damage.

This led to sciatica, & this machine is very good at opening up the discs, freeing pinched nerves. I fully recommend one to back pain sufferers.
