track arms and the sub frame???

track arms and the sub frame???

While under my car, I noticed that the washer on the track arm hard rubbed the paint on the sub frame and the nut was loose!

As the motor and box are out (gear box lay shaft bearings had failed) I dropped the sub frame....

on checking the bolt hole in the sub frame for the track arm.... it hadn't elongated... new bolts and bushes were ordered, as it was all apart.

now i notice that the new bolts are 12mm the old ones 10mm...

the track arm bushes are 12mm..... but the hole in the sub frame is only 10mm...

ok so i can drill out the holes in the sub frame to 12mm and every thing should be good..... but has any one else come across this? are indeed the bolts to the track arms meant to be 12mm or 10mm?

According to Rimmers and Robsport the Track control arm bolts are 12mm - Part No.: BH112151

When I last replaced the bushes and bolts to the TCA it was a straight swap, no issues like this.

If the old bolts were 10mm, what size holes were in the old bushes? Do you have the same issue on both sides? Is there a sign that someone may have applied weld to the subframe to make the hole smaller?

The old bolts are 10mm the holes in the bushes are 12mm and the holes in the sub frame are 10mm.

The sub frame look completely untouched. and I would say it was a factory TR8 one but I don't have a image to compare too.

which is why the question if any one else has found this.

I have checked the Rimmer part number and it is correct to both my TR7 parts books
