It always amazes me how laid back and nonchalant Tony Pond was during these rallies, then he drives like that!

That was really great to watch. Nice to see and hear such a great machine in action. Did love the snow bits though. Oh how I miss the snow lol.

The 7/8 is by far the far the most successful TR in any form of competition.

I wonder why the other TR model owners don’t claim it to add a bit of hero to the TR name?

Could it be it was too successful to be a “trueâ€￾ TR?

Pond was magic to watch and Eklund in the snow towards the end is just amazing. Imagine what skills it took to master that 300+HP beast on ice and snow, no studded tyres allowed.

My dearest friends. Along the lines of Hasbeen's above post, and at the risk of being a bit philosophical and a bit poetic, if there are heroes to be had in the World of Triumph motorcars and their real life competition existence, they will be found here, right here, in the global gathering of this forum.

We, we few, we gallant few, have taken on a despised sports car from so long ago and proved to the world the fallacy of the lying propaganda fostered by the authors of books and magazine articles. We all have those publications on our shelves. We pore over them on occasion in wonder of how such falsehoods could have been taken for truths while hanging our hearts on the grudgingly admitted positive points. My friends, each of us here have shown in our own ways, how wrong they were.

The TR7 is a great machine. Whether it be set up for track or street, it serves the purpose of it's owner with honesty and forthrightness of purpose. And, it is the owner who decides on the path of development that one car takes. Who is that owner? It is each of us with our own individual needs for the car. It is each of us with the eager help and advice from all over this Blue Orb nearly instantly coming together as a community to aid the other. No other group of like minded special interest people compares to the genuinely heroic actions of the members of this group.

Did the TR7 prove itself in spite of the propaganda of the media? Yes, it did. Have we of this community proved the righteousness of our cause? Yes, much to the increasingly damaged egos of the press.

Who are the heroes here? It's ALL of you.

Nope, it just wasn't seen as a true TR from those TR2 - TR6 owners for many years and for some possibly isn't still.

Funny, watched and enjoyed the clips, particularly Tony Pond's irreverent interview style, but now youtube won't play any videos, it brings up the usual clip screen and title but no play buttons, any idea what is going on?
Help please, Calvin.
