Connecting central locking to the keyless entry sy

Postby UKPhilTR7 » 28 May 2014 01:50

I have a central locking kit and a boot release kit, that I brought, but didn't get the keyless entry kit at the same time. So now I find myself wanting to connect it all together and controll the boot and central locking from a nice key fob.

I am looking at a keyless entry kit something like this (http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps- ... sku-72457/)

My question is; does anyone know how to connect the remote control/receiver box to the existing central locking as there is no big connector in the central locking that will go into the remote control/receiver box. Has anyone done this before and how do you connect the two?

I have found this, but any comments on this would be great (https://sites.google.com/site/stoyneff/ ... 3b4-passat)

Probably doesn't help but my alarm controls my central locking. The keyfob that turns the alarm on/off also lock/unlocks the car. This is usually built into alarm systems.

How does your current central locking operate at the moment? and can you not run a wire from one of the door solenoids to the boot?

Neither can I Phil. What sorts of Equipment do you have installed already?

[My system came complete from Moss in Richmond, and was intended for the Wedge!
It came with Alarm, Central door locking, Keyless entry, Remote Boot release, Electric windows
and Power window alarm/keyless control. I never fitted that window control since I don't want
the alarm to raise the door glasses if the top is down...
Part numbers were: WPA7001, WPA7002, WPA7003, WPA7004, WPA7005 and WPA92221X (and
I skipped that last one... Never looked back since!]

At the moment I don't have anything fitted and was going to install the whole system new. This was part of the three piece system that I am lead to believe also came from the system moss was selling. I brought the boot release and the central locking kit with the intention of buying the keyless entry after and putting them all together. However, when I came to purchase the keyless entry kit, they were all gone. You could not get any for love nor money.

Now I am left thinking should I try and patch it together or should I buy a new system and then use the bits from the 7 kit to make it work.

Yes, the set was a wee bit costly - took a good while for the wallet to recover from that shock. [xx(]
[Something like UKP 635 (15+ years ago!) for the lot...]

I'd get a modern kit and use the Wedge-unique hardware only...
