Anybody know where to get replacement sun visors? Mine look awful and the plastic over the mirror is brown and cracked

I think they are available in certain colours from the usual Rimmers, Robsport, S&S etc. Mildred also did an article on rehabilitating them, now posted in the Workshop section.

New ones are mostly unobtainable in any colour, but decent used ones appear from time to time on the likes of Ebay. As Alan mentions, it is worth asking the specialists what they have.

In the States the TWOA recently got a batch of black visors for LHD cars made by the original producer(here in England), by all accounts they were excellent. Pretty sure they are all sold now but the TWOA may get more done in future, possibly other colours too.

The kids around here found a sort of crushed velvet fabric. It has a very short pile, like a velour, which has a bit of stretch in it. They were using a spray adhesive to stick this in old Ford door trims.

I was quite impressed when my son, age about 18 at the time, sewed up a tube of this stuff, slightly smaller then the height of his sun visor, sewed up one end & slid it over his aging cracking visors, then hand sewed the open end. It fitted like a glove.

He threatened me with death if I told anyone he could use a sewing machine.

The finished visors looked pretty much the same as the velour covered visors in our Toyota Cressidas, adding a touch of class to the old falcon. Heavens knows our sun visors could do with a bit of added class.

I have been thinking about doing it to my 7s visors ever since. It is only 10 years ago, but I don't believe in rushing these things.

I had a set from TWOA, they were very good just like original, I asked the makers if they were going to produce RHD ones, strangely they said they had no demand for them, but if enough people got together then the problem would be solved.

Good old pressed card board cut into shape and laminated to get the proper thickness.

Aldridge Trimming LTD did a pilot run of 50 LHD ones recently. With more to come in the future. They sold for $60 US to members of the TWOA.

It sure would be nice to get some new black ones. I am currently searching for a set of new ones but they are few and far between. Remember seeing some on ebay a few months ago, but thought nothing more of it. Now I want them, there are none around. I have a good set of tan ones that I may have to take to a fitters to try and get some black ones from it.

Hello there! I thought that I would post a pix of the sun visors that Peter and Powerrack mentioned. As some of you may know (or not) the TWOA purchased the original tooling for these visors and Aldridge Trimming Ltd made the first run of these in black. I think they look great! [8D] I believe the next run will be in blue, followed by the biscuit/tan color as that has been a bit trickier to source a quality vinyl that is also a suitable color. I had actually paid over $350 to get a custom made set for Spidey, but had to have these as well. Comparatively speaking, theTWOA visors were a bargain! (The fact that they are as original is a deffo bonus, too! TWOA is a great group to belong to and membership does have its privileges as Club members were given first dibs.

My sun visors are basically 2 bags of dust. The vinyl has kept its shape but the foam has disintegrated
