Australian Carpets

There is some discussion over of the TR7/8 mailing list asking about some Australian moulded carpets that are advertised on Ebay.

See item:- 121345832173

Any of our Aussie members got any experience of them?

I can't get anything on that number.

However I think there was only one molded carpet tool in Oz for 7s.

I have that molded carpet in my 7 which I fitted 12 years, & almost 70,000 kilometers ago. I have it covered with a couple of generic foot well mats, which may have helped. What ever the case it is still in good condition.

It has a watertight backing, which caught the water making it pool on top of it, when my air conditioning ran into the footwell.

The only problem with the thing was it was about 1" too narrow for the car from the gear stick cover forward. I had to cut up the center for that distance to get it wide enough to fit in the footwalls. This really didn't matter much, as all the cut is hidden by the console.

So if it is the same kit, it is a hard wearing, fair quality bit of kit, which takes a bit of fitting.

No that is a new one on me.

At that price it has to be worth having.

At that price they are cheaper than UK ones even including $69 for postage to the UK. Would be interested to hear if they are good, and if they would do the side pillars for the DHC.
