Stolen TR7 - Uddingston

Postby gslittle » 29 Apr 2014 15:04

Hi folks

Just saw this on the Practical Classics magazine Facebook page. It was stolen on 6th April so the trail may have gone cold by now, but worth remembering in case you might be able to help if offered the car or parts etc.

"STOLEN: 06/04/2014
Triumph TR7 Convertible (White with Black roof) Reg No: MBL 940X. Stolen overnight from Uddingston, Glasgow. Phone 101 Police Scotland (Bellshill Police Station) or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 quoting registration number."

Cheers

Graham

I can't imagine why any Bozo would want to steal a TR7. Everyone knows a TR7 has no value, it's the most unreliable car from the decade of the 1970's, and the automotive press has branded it a pariah that could probably give you an infectious disease.

I suspect the owner is submitting a fraudulent insurance claim and the car has been hidden in some obscure barn. He is in the insurance business after all.

Not really funny when your car is stolen. Fortunately I found mine. Good luck in finding yours.

they really can't be high up on the stolen list just the same though....

A couple of years ago one of the local Mini guys lost his car to theft, but fortunately the club kept a eye peeled and low and behold parts of the car showed up on a classified ad site.... a few guys got together and visited the guy , confirmed the origins of the parts and called the cops. The theif was nabbed and the car (all though now cut up in parts) was returned to its owner.... which he then restored.
